  1. Questions About Assisted Living in Faribault, Minnesota.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about assisted living at Heritage House.

How much does Assisted Living Cost?

Cost is based on the required level of care. An assessment is done prior to admission to determine the individual's needs. We accept private pay as well as county funding for those with a lower income. Subsidized money is available through Rice County Public Health Nursing for qualified applicants.

Do you accept people with incontinence issues?

Yes. Urinary incontinence is common among the elderly. Many resident's use adult briefs. Some resident's, in accordance to their need, are placed on a bladder training program, which consists of bathroom reminders and assistance every few hours throughout the day. We frequently care for individuals with indwelling Foley catheters as well.

Do you accept people with memory impairments?

Although Heritage House Elder Care is not a dementia unit, many of our resident's have varying levels of cognitive impairments. While some do not know the time of day, date or year, others may struggle with performing simple tasks independently. Each resident has a care plan outlining their needs, both physically, cognitively and psychologically, to help staff better understand their strengths and weaknesses. It is common place for staff to remind or redirect resident's with special needs. Likewise, we have an intercom system, door alarms and personal alarms if indicated.
